        ROBERT GAYLOR ARTIST

    Compositions in Poetic Archaeology.

2006 – ongoing.   50+ assemblage/sculptures made to date from found recycled plastic objects Varied sizes. No object is altered. Some of the pieces consist of a sculpture with an accompanying photo matrix. Assembled with various engineered adhesives and plastic welding.

I’ve collected several thousand plastic objects kept in the studio to utilize and refer to. (See studio shot) I think of it as  Poetic Archaeology.  I strive for the tension between a compelling  composition  and the common, vulgar, disregarded and discarded objects it is made from. I am especially conscious of color.

No social critique or political statements should be inferred to the work (For the most part) yet at the same time it is perhaps evident that knowledge of such critiques is embedded in it.
